Electronics Sector Skill Council of India (ESSCI)-Enabling the ESDM ecosystem in India
The Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) is promoted by six Industry associations (CEAMA, ELCINA, IESA, IPCA, MAIT & ELCOMA) with financial support by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
ESSCI is a notâ€forâ€profit organization registered under the Indian Companies Act, 1956. It aims to be the key catalyst in addressing the twin challenges of employability and employment in the larger electronics space.

ESSCI recently partnered IESA in an ambitious initiative to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in ESDM, which aims to reach over 1 lakh relevant engineering students across 500 engineering colleges spanning India in 5 years. Resulting in Startups that make India leap beyond in the ESDM arena and creates job opportunities in India & Global Market.
ESSCI currently has 22 assessment partners encompassing India and 176+ training partners who operate 4013 centers across India besides 145 subject matter experts (SMEs) empaneled. 1688+ assessors & 2617 trainers have been as NSQF norms.
ESSCI has 13 industry sponsored COEs to train the trainers coming up with the first one already up in Bhubaneshwar and more slated to come up across India.
Skill competency qualification packs have been developed for 161 job roles with more in the pipeline. Standardized training content like model curriculum, trainer guide & candidate handbook has since been developed for 20 high demand job roles. On diverse skill sets such as repair of household electronics , installation of solar panel, design engineering, etc. are on offer with more in the anvil. We have conducted dozens of job fairs so far across India with lakhs of candidates successfully placed out of them. In a remarkable achievement ESSCI has trained over 630000 candidates across 45 different job roles in the last 5 years.
To enable Indian talent gain international employment particularly in UK & Middle East Countries,and other global destinations, ESSCI has aligned with UKERI International and also developed 5 transnational QP. ESSCI constantly engages international sector skills councils to be updated of the best practices and knowledge, worldwide.
ESSCI has signed MoUs with 11 state Governments- West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, MP, Haryana, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Rajasthan for skill development and building a strong ecosystem around the ESDM sector. It has an ongoing engineering campus engagement which is poised for a leap with BMS College of Engineering, Bengaluru already onboard with more such college partnerships in the pipeline. In with the adage, catch them early, we are also building a school connect program.
ESSCI has facilitated proactive participation in all government flagship programs - Skill India, Digital India, Make In India, Smart Cities & Swachh Bharat etc. It has successfully identified an opportunity in best practices training for Non-PMKVY/Paid programs. Like the best practices training for AC technicians on Ozone Depletion for Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Control. ESSCI is headquartered in New Delhi, India and has a branch presence in Bangalore,Pune,Guwahat,Kolkata,Chandigarh with a plan to spread out across India aggressively. It has partnered the worldâ€™s best like IEEE, IPC, SCTE, IIIT,ARM, Infineon, Microchip, etc. as knowledge partners.
